“The structure is the soul of a building. We build for people. Not the building but the people is in the centre of our attention. Our main focus: We design structures.” AJG INGENIEURE GMBH
The engineering firm AJG Ingenieure from Munich can look back on over six decades of experience on the wide-ranging field of building safety. The firm was founded in 1957 and specialises in structural design, building surveys, fire safety, seismic safety and blast protection.
Services in the areas of special civil engineering and object planning/monitoring round off the portfolio – both for new construction and conversion projects and for refurbishments and conservation work. The development of innovative, economical and sustainable solutions is always the pursuit of an optimal balance between the functionality and aesthetics of a building.
Project
Hotel Victory, Therme Erding Spa, Germany
As part of the expansion of the Therme Erding spa in Bavaria, making it the largest facility of its kind in the world, a new hotel was integrated into the wave pool area. The new building forms a functional boundary and serves as the load-bearing structure for the removable vaulted roof construction made of steel and glass too. The planning not only had to overcome difficult ground conditions, but also had to provide for a fast implementation in as short a time frame as possible and at low material expense.
For that reason, precast concrete components were the main elements used in the construction. The ‘Victory’ Hotel consists of two new wings that provide
the generously sized wave pool with an architectural frame. While the ‘Venezia’ wing cites the picturesque rococo facades of the lagoon city of Venice, the ‘Victory’ wing is based on the sides of Admiral Nelson’s famous warship of the same name.
